Hands Off (April 5, 2025)

Members of Cooper River Indivisible (CRI) joined protests around the area on the nation-wide day of protests. We sent a busload of protesters to the signature march in Washington DC. Another group of CRI members took PATCO to the march in Philadelphia. Other members of CRI attended other protests around the area including in Princeton and Pitman.

Indivisible estimated that millions of Americans joined in the protests around the country “to demand an end to Trump’s authoritarian power grab.” Indivisible says that “this is the largest day of protest since Trump retook office. And in many small towns and cities, activists are reporting the biggest protests their communities have ever seen as everyday people send a clear, unmistakable message to Trump and Musk: Hands off our healthcare, hands off our civil rights, hands off our schools, our freedoms, and our democracy.”

In addition to the protests in the United States, Indivisible says there were “protesters showing solidarity in the UK, Portugal, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, and the Netherlands.” We thank all of those who came out in support and hope today show politicians of both parties that we are not going to take the actions of the current administration laying down.
