April Meeting (April 23, 2025)
Over 600 people signed up for the April Meeting and they made for a very enthusiastic crowd. Adam Sheridan gave updates on all the things that have recently happened in CRI and the events that are on the horizon. Molly gave us a report from the LGBTQIA+ Committee and the crowd reacted with an emotional round of applause and a renewed sense of purpose as members or allies of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The main event of the night was a talk by Professor Dannagal Goldthwaite Young from the University of Delaware. Their talk was informative, interesting and humorous and all of the attendees seemed captivated by the experience. After the talk there was about 5 minutes for questions and it was clear that all of the audience was hungry for more information from the speaker, for it was clear that we could have gone another hour and still not exhausted all the things people wanted to discuss. We encourage you to check out the professor’s latest book. You can’t go wrong by purchasing it from our local bookstore by following this link. Finally, the professor can be found on BlueSky @dannagal.
Much to the delight of the crowd, we were introduced to the art work of a few of member of CRI. Everyone present took great joy in the experience of seeing these giant puppets for the first time. We are all looking forward to seeing the puppets at our upcoming protests and to seeing all the other great work that done by the talented members of our organization.
Finally, the meeting split into subcommittee groups so that smaller groups could meet and plan for our upcoming actions.
